Changes to NASBP’s CPA Advisory Council

NASBP is pleased to announce an addition to the NASBP Certified Public Accountant Advisory Council (CPAAC). NASBP heartily welcomes Tim Reynolds of Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLP in Albuquerque, NM, to the CPAAC. Reynolds joins the other CPAs currently serving on the NASBP CPAAC: Todd Feuerman of Ellin & Tucker in Baltimore, MD; David V. Jean of Albin, Randall & Bennett in Portland, ME; Martin C. McCarthy of Marcum LLP in Blue Bell, PA; Jason A. Myers of Forvis Mazars in Indianapolis, IN; Carl Oliveri of Grassi & Co. in New York, NY; and Julian M. Xavier of CliftonLarsonAllen LLP in Walnut Creek, CA.

The CPAAC, inaugurated by NASBP in 2015, is comprised of distinguished CPAs with expert knowledge of and experience with financial, tax, and accounting issues in the construction and surety industries. The mission statement for the CPAAC states as follows:
The NASBP CPA Advisory Council is constituted for the purpose of serving as a resource team to NASBP and providing substantive content to NASBP for articles, programs, and presentations on tax and other financial issues regarding surety, government contracts and construction law topics for the betterment of the surety industry.

 The Council participants serve as valuable resources to NASBP, providing outstanding informational content for various articles, virtual seminars, podcasts, and in-person presentations. 

Tim Reynolds is the Partner-in-Charge at the Albuquerque, NM office of Carr, Riggs & Ingram. He has more than 26 years of experience in all areas of federal tax compliance and consulting for individuals and small businesses. He also focuses on the areas of business valuation and litigation support services. In addition to being a CPA, Reynolds is accredited as Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) and as a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).

Reynold’s experience includes the representation of clients with the IRS and other tax authorities, pass-through entity formation and tax planning, and tax planning for closely held businesses and individuals. His experience also includes valuation and litigation support services for a wide variety of purposes including succession planning, small business disputes, economic damages, estate and gift tax transactions, and divorce. He began his career at KPMG, LLP in its State and Local Tax department where he assisted clients with New Mexico gross receipts tax issues, including compliance and consulting, refund claims, and business credits/incentives.

Reynolds is a graduate of the University of New Mexico with a BBA with a concentration in accounting. He is a member of the New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. This spring R.A. “Bobbi” Hayes, one of our esteemed participants on the CPAAC, retired from the Council, as she is simultaneously retiring from Carr, Riggs & Ingram. We at NASBP thank her for sharing with us her knowledge, experience, expertise, and time for the benefit of our members and the public.
