Resident agent signature and countersignature laws have been eradicated and violate the law in every U.S. state.
NASBP is pleased to announce that it has updated its short white paper on the illegality of resident agent signature and resident agent countersignature laws. View the April 2022 version of the paper. The white paper was revised in order to clarify that both resident agent countersignatures and resident agent signatures are illegal in every U.S. state, the District of Columbia, and all U.S. territories (with the exception of Guam, where it has not been challenged).
NASBP provides this white paper to help each of you be an effective advocate where agencies mistakenly require resident agent signatures or resident agent countersignatures on their bond forms.
