New State and Federal Law Resource for Surety Professionals Now Available from NASBP.org

NASBP is pleased to announce that “The Surety Underwriter’s Desk Book” is now available by clicking here. This new publication offers a comprehensive overview of state and federal laws that impact surety underwriting. The Desk Book was developed by the Underwriting & Risk Subcommittee of the Fidelity & Surety Law Committee of the American Bar Association. Over 100 attorneys from across the country researched and developed the content of this compendium under the leadership of the project co-chairs, Mary Alice McNamara of Travelers Bond, and Chad Schexnayder of the Law Firm of Jennings, Haug & Cunningham.

The Desk Book, which is over 1200 pages in length and designed to be used electronically, is organized in a user-friendly format. Each chapter, which represents a different state, country, or territory, covers the same topics presented in a standardized template, which makes searching the content for topics and information a streamlined process.

McNamara and Schexnayder presented a complimentary NASBP Virtual Seminar on June 7, on the topic of how to use this valuable resource. Click here to listen to their Virtual Seminar presentation, to download the overview document, and to access “The Surety Underwriter’s Desk Book,”
