NASBP Members view The Beavers‘ recognition of NASBP President Susan Hecker’s contribution as a surety broker has far-reaching significance for the surety industry and bond producers.

Todd Loehnert, a NASBP past president and of the NASBP Member firm of L A Surety Solutions of Louisville, KY, said, “It was an amazing honor for Susan to be recognized for her service and professionalism by The Beavers.” The Beavers is a national heavy-engineering construction trade association that recently awarded the Golden Beaver Award for Service and Supply to Hecker, who is Executive Vice President and National Director of Contract Surety at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. in San Francisco.

Loehnert said her award underscores how the heavy construction industry values bond producers. “For both the construction and surety industries, it signifies that The Beavers value the exceptional services she provides as a trusted advisor, surety advocate, and financial partner to her clients as a bond producer,” Loehnert said.

Lawrence McMahon, a NASBP past president and of the NASBP Member firm of Alliant Insurance Services, Inc. in San Diego, said that throughout the 61-year history of the prestigious Beavers’ award only a select few bond producers have received it. “The Annual Golden Beavers awards dinner is an institution in the construction industry,” McMahon said. “This is huge and a major acknowledgment of Susan’s contribution to the construction industry.”

“Susan was nominated and chosen for her career-long record of serving her clients,” said Beavers Executive Director Dave Woods, who added that “Hecker has earned a reputation as a trusted adviser, consultant and partner to many contractors.” See NASBP Press Relase.

Brad Babcock of the NASBP Member firm of Babcock Solutions LLC in Cedarburg, WI said, “As a member of NASBP, I am proud to see our President receive this award.”

“Susan has earned respect across the nation for her energy and professionalism,” said NASBP Second Vice President Howard Cowan of the NASBP Member firm of Cowan-Hill Bond Agency of Lubbock, TX. “It is noteworthy that after receiving the Award in Los Angeles, she immediately traveled to Houston to lecture at the NASBP Surety School, and from there she traveled to the AGC/NASBP/SFAA Joint Surety and Risk Management Conference to conduct a presentation on ethical dilemmas faced by contractors and sureties. It is easy to understand why Susan is admired and respected by the construction industry,” he added.
