On December 5, the Ontario Legislature passed Bill 142, which includes Section II.1 that requires public work in the Ontario Province to be protected by performance and payment bonds. In the fall 2017 issue of the NASBP Surety Bond Quarterly, NASBP International Committee Chair, Sheila Thompson of Rosenberg & Parker of Canada, Inc., wrote an article on the subject.

NASBP will continue to keep you apprised on this Canadian effort as it goes through the regulations process with the Ministry of the Attorney General of Ontario.
