The ConsensusDocs Coalition recently published the ConsensusDocs 755, Standard Master Subcontractor Agreement Between Constructor and Subcontractor, and the ConsensusDocs 756, Standard Project Work Order Between Constructor and Subcontractors. Both of these new ConsensusDocs documents are expected to be among the most used ConsensusDocs standard contract documents, because they provide a more efficient method for general contractors and construction managers to negotiate the legal terms and conditions with their subcontractors once across multiple projects and allow field employees to negotiate the work scope and price on additional small or large subcontract contracts.

Joe McAllister, General Counsel for Hughes General Contractors in Salt Lake, UT, who served as chair for the ConsensusDocs Coalition working group that developed the master subcontract, said, “The use of master subcontract agreements has become the prevalent practice in our market, so these new ConsensusDocs master subcontract documents will be very useful to us, and we plan to use them often.”

All subscribers to the ConsensusDocs Full Package and Subcontracting Package automatically have access to these new documents. The risk allocation terms and conditions in the 755 and 756 are consistent with the ConsensusDocs 750, Standard Subcontract Agreement.
