The 2023 American Arbitration Association® (AAA) Construction Conference: Effective Dispute Avoidance and Resolution Throughout the Project Lifecycle will be held on Thursday, June 8 in Santa Monica, CA. The Conference agenda is now available.

NASBP is participating as a cooperating organization of the Conference. The 2023 AAA Construction Conference will focus on best practices for avoiding and managing disputes on complex construction projects from the planning stages through completion of the project.

Attorneys from two NASBP Attorney Advisory Council firms will be presenting at the Conference.

Lauren McLaughlin, a Partner with Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP, will be part of the panel discussion “Risky Business: Construction Disputes as Risk Management Problems.” This session will “bridge the gap” between law and management in the arbitration of construction disputes.

Adrian L. Bastianelli, III, Of Counsel with Peckar & Abramson, P.C., will be on the panel of “The New AAA DARB Rules – Changes and New Opportunities.” This session will explore how to use AAA’s new DARB process effectively to avoid and resolve disputes during construction in a cost effective, timely, and efficient manner.

A Breakfast with General Counsel opens the conference, discussing current issues important to construction companies. Other sessions include:
