Walker Hunt Bateman IV

It is with great sadness that NASBP announces the passing last month of Walker Hunt Bateman IV. Walker and the late Derrell Dodson founded NASBP member Dodson Bateman and Company of Dallas, TX, which earned many professional accolades.

The Dallas Surety Association announcement stated: Walker Bateman was an influential part of the surety industry in Dallas. His hard work and dedication improved the surety industry and left an impact on all of the people he worked with.

Walker is survived by his wife Jean of over 49 years and their children, Jessica Bateman Pulliam (daughters: Charlotte Lee Pulliam and Jacquelyn Ann Pulliam); Jacquelyn Bateman Woldert (husband, Dan, and daughters: Grace Jenkins Woldert and Clara Christian Woldert); and Walker Hunt Bateman V, all of Dallas. Lori Ann Lange
June 28, 1966 ~ March 15, 2022

NASBP mourns the loss of Lori Ann Lange, a good friend and brilliant attorney at Peckar & Abramson, P.C., who passed away suddenly at her home on March 15, 2022.

Lori was the Chair of Peckar & Abramson’s Federal Government Contracting and Infrastructure practice, and she was an excellent speaker and author. Along with many of her colleagues, Lori was a valued and generous contributor to NASBP’s educational offerings, as a speaker and a writer, particularly in the complex area of federal government contracts, laws, and regulations.

NASBP’s General Counsel Martha Perkins remembers Lori: “I knew Lori for 25 years; we first met at Women in Construction meetings. Even then, she was whip-smart, she was kind and generous with her time and expertise, and she was committed to productivity at a very high level. And she always displayed these traits. She was one of NASBP’s go-to attorneys because she was ever-willing to commit her time and unparalleled knowledge to educating our members. And she did it on time, with flashes of her wonderful sense of humor.”

A visitation and memorial services were held in March at the Robert A. Pumphrey Funeral Homes, Inc., Bethesda, MD.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lori’s name to Alley Cat Allies.
