NASBP recently marked the 100^th episode of its “Let’s Get Surety–Let Me Hear Your Bonding Talk” Podcast! The episode celebrated NASBP advocacy success regarding the Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) Program. Co-hosts Kat Shamapande and Mark McCallum were joined by Phil Macres, a principal at Klein Law Group PLLC and BEAD Coalition Outside Counsel, and Larry LeClair, NASBP Director of Government Relations. The BEAD Coalition works towards alternatives to the letter of credit (LOC) requirement in the BEAD program. During the episode, they discuss background on broadband infrastructure and LOCs, as well as the exciting news from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration that surety bonds will be accepted as an alternative to LOCs for the BEAD program moving forward.
